Catalog # 5 - SUSQUEHANNA 1987
This volume of NYS&W features some colorful footage of F45 #6370 in yellow & black, taken at Edison Road, and passing the old Sparta station. I have a few night shots of a westbound Sea-Land at Pompton Lakes and Butler, taken in the still of the early-morning hours.
The speed restrictions imposed after the Franklin derailment have been lifted and trains are again operating at 35 MPH. There are some nice fall foliage shots of Sea-Land trains out on Conrail's Southern Tier between Port Jervis and Binghamton, including Gulf Summit and the Starrucca Viaduct at Lanesboro, PA.
On a gorgeous October afternoon I was lucky enough to get footage of the light passenger extra in NJ., headed for Little Ferry with the equipment to be used for the upcoming Director's Special. I also have scenes of the October Director's Special. There's good coverage of the NYO&W NW2, #116, at Oakland, Pompton Lakes, and drilling at Butler. For a finale, I have the first SD45 to receive the "Yellow Jacket" scheme, #3612, fresh out of the paint shop, on the point of an eastbound Sea-Land in NJ., and again, several days later, westbound, roaring under the huge Erie coaling tower near Susquehanna, PA.
(Run time: 2 hours.) Total price $27.00 postpaid to USA.
