...featuring Susquehanna, Conrail, Delaware & Hudson, and neighboring short line action, here in the NY NJ PA Tri-State Area.

Back in the mid-80's, there was very little commercially-produced video available of rail action near my home in northwest New Jersey. When the Susquehanna announced the reopening of their abandoned line over Sparta Mountain, I decided to document the entire reconstruction project on video. When completed, my footage filled two complete T-120's, copies of which I began selling through ads in popular rail publications.

Customer response was positive enough that I continued filming into the late 90's. Coverage centers around the NY, NJ, PA Tri-State area. Lines covered include the Susquehanna, Conrail, Delaware & Hudson, and neighboring short lines, such as the Blue Mountain & Reading, Panther Valley, Wanamaker Kempton & Southern, Middletown & New Jersey, Lackawaxen & Stourbridge, Black River & Western, and the New Hope & Ivyland. A detailed description of each video can be found by clicking Videos above.

Highlights include the rebuilding of Susquehanna's line over Sparta Mountain, Conrail's removal of rail from the former Lehigh & Hudson River in New Jersey, the 1988 NRHS Annual Convention, the operation of Steamtown out of their new home in Scranton, PA., east to Pocono Summit and west to Kingsley, Conrail unit coal trains from Allentown, struggling over the Martins Creek and Bangor grades to Portland, PA., the 1989 URHS of NJ "Museum Special" to Flemington, the installation of welded rail on the reopened Susquehanna main in New Jersey, the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern's Railfan Weekend, and the transition of the Delaware & Hudson to CP Rail, with heavy freights being shoved over Clarks Summit and Belden Hill. Also covered are many of the excursions sponsored by area chapters of the NRHS.

These videos are all live sound and color. There is no narration, background music, or special graphics. A printed handout, included with each video, details all footage and provides additional background as appropriate. I'm a stickler for good audio, and have always used external, full-range microphones. Except for the occasional wind gust, you should find the audio quite good, especially if you run the output of your TV through an external sound system. Since I'm not a household name, such as Pentrex or Green Frog, I offer a money-back guarantee. Should you find a video to be unsatisfactory, you may return it, within one week, for a full refund.

All prices include applicable taxes and media mail shipping through the US Post Office.

RECOMMENDATION...

New customer? Not sure which video to order first? Let me recommend #13, or #15, "Tri-State Area 1991", volumes 1 or 2. These programs offer a wide selection of subject matter, and benefit from newer technologies and, thus, improved image quality.
